Briarwood Golf Club was built by Bill & Eleanor and Ken & Jane Leatherman. Construction of the course started in 1960, and was completed and open for business in July, 1963. The course was named Briarwood because of the numerous briar trees found on the land. The 9-hole East course at the Briarwood Golf Course features 3,325 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 . The course rating is 34.8 and it has a slope rating of 122. The 9-hole Front course at the Briarwood Golf Club features 3,039 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 . The course rating is 33.8 and it has a slope rating of 109. The Back 9 at the Briarwood features 3,246 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36 . The course rating is 35.0 and it has a slope rating of 125.
