Our Museum and Cultural Center was created by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians to establish, gather, interpret, and maintain a record of the history of the Grand Traverse Band of Anishinaabek. We have great respect for the circle of life, honor for our families, and the telling of our true heritage. It is our hope and belief that this museum will promote the Tribe’s belief that the culture, language and spirit of the Grand Traverse Band shall be recognized, perpetuated, communicated, supported, and shared with the people of all nations.
Inside the museum you will also find the Odaawa Gamik (Gift Shop), featuring the work of local and tribal artists. We have everything from handmade jewelry and baskets to stained glass, dream catchers, and much more. Our inventory also includes educational materials, books, and maps.
