The nature center was designed to let the public explore the Reed Cedar's habitat through creative exhibits, programs and exploration of the natural area preserved here. Surrounded by forests, meadows, over five miles of nature trails and a 3/4-mile paved loop trail, this nature center is set on the banks of the Red Cedar River. Inside the building, rotating displays are accented by the Preuss Living River Exhibit and the Red Cedar River Model. Programs for children and families are available year-round. The nature center is free and open to the public so get outside and experience a day with nature! Geo-caching is available. Trails are available for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Trails are open from dawn to dusk and no fee to use. Rental of all-terrain wheel chair.
