Highland Oaks offers more than 300 acres of picturesque rolling hills, wetlands and old pastures. Located within the headwaters of the Shiawassee River, Highland Oaks preserves sensitive habitat while providing recreational experiences in a natural setting. A 2.5 mile mowed grass trail is available for hiking, geocaching, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing as well as fishing from an accessible floating dock. The park is open for archery hunting in designated areas from Oct. 1 - Jan 1 (Michigan DNR rules apply). Open cross country skiing and snowshoeing is available for those that have their own equipment.
