The New Midland Civic Arena opened in Sept. 2005, is 107,000 square feet, seats 1,000, and has three rinks – two are National Hockey League size and the third is Olympic size. The arena replaces the old facility at 515 E. Collins St. The arena, which will be used for public skating, hockey, figure skating and speed skating, was funded by public and private sectors and is a product of what Public Services Director Marty McGuire calls a “great community partnership.”
