June 8-9, 2024!
Since 1967, the FLINT ART FAIR has been presented by the Friends of Modern Art (FOMA), a non-profit membership organization serving an 11-county region in southeast Michigan with the primary service area being Flint and Genesee County. FOMA’s mission is to promote interest, understanding, and appreciation of contemporary art at the Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) among the citizens of the region. FOMA membership has grown to more than 550 individuals and its programs serve more than 16,000 adults, children, and families within Southeast Michigan annually.
The FLINT ART FAIR has received numerous awards and honors and is rated as one of the most “Artist Friendly” venues in the state by Sunshine Artist Magazine and was voted the #1 favorite summer event in Michigan by M-Live. The Fair is put on entirely by volunteers and is FOMA’s primary source of income. Funds raised are directly used to help fund exhibitions, programs, and art acquisitions at the FIA.
Attracting thousands of visitors each year, this 2-day summer event, held on the second weekend in June, is located on the grounds of the Flint Institute of Arts in the heart of the beautiful Flint Cultural Center. Juried to ensure the highest caliber of artists, the event introduces original works from as many as 175 established and emerging artists from Michigan and beyond in various genres including ceramics, glass, painting, jewelry, fiber, metal, mixed media, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood.
